Quick answers to the questions families ask most before race day.
How is race age calculated?
Race age is the rider’s age on January 1 of the current year.
What is a Starter class?
Starter classes are for riders in their first year racing that bike. Prior experience on a different bike is okay. Riders who consistently podium in non-beginner classes elsewhere may not be eligible for Starter.
Does my child need racing experience?
No. Mini Rippers is designed to welcome young riders and first-time racing families. If you are unsure where to begin, start with our First-Time Racers page or contact us.
How do I register?
Mini Rippers race registration is completed online through our official Trackside page. REGISTER ON TRACKSIDE →
What does Lake Elsinore Raceway require?
Lake Elsinore Raceway gate fees and waiver requirements are separate from Mini Rippers registration. Complete the track requirements before arriving. Visit www.leraceway.com.
What safety gear is required?
Requirements depend on the bike. Strider riders need a minimum mountain-bike helmet or full-face helmet and closed-toe shoes. STACYC riders need a full-face helmet and shoes, with goggles recommended. PW50 and up require a DOT-approved helmet, motorcycle boots, full moto gear and goggles. Chest protectors are not required, but are highly recommended.

What classes does Mini Rippers offer?
Balance Bike, STACYC, PW50, 50cc, 65cc and 5–8 kW Under Open classes are available. See the Classes, Rules & Safety page for the current class breakdown.
What if my rider has an off-brand bike?
Contact Mini Rippers before registering so we can help place the bike in the correct class.
Where are the races?
Our 2026 comeback races are at Lake Elsinore Raceway in California.
Where will schedule or weather updates be posted?

Can my rider enter more than one class?
Class eligibility can depend on the rider and bike. Contact Mini Rippers before registering if you want help choosing multiple classes.
